I was bitten by the sewing bug on Monday and was really in the mood to iron and cut the squares for the I-spy quilt I have been waiting to make PB for a while now. I actually bought the fabric for it back in September.
So I ironed and cut all the squares. I used Care's I-spy quilt tutorial. My squares are 5 inches and hers are 4 inches so it was a little different.
The squares didn't take too long to cut out and PB was still napping so I decided to start sewing them together. Maybe now is a good time to mention that I had a large Diet Coke today at lunch. I don't normally have caffeine, I used to drink a ton of it but I slowly backed off of it before I got pregnant with PB. I used to get migraines and headaches all the time and now I rarely get them. WOW I just got totally side tracked. Anyway... PB took a really long nap today and I started sewing the big blocks together...
...he woke up about 4 squares in. I had to stop sewing and do some motherly duties like feed him dinner. We grabbed some pizza and I convinced him that he wanted to play in the basement. Then, I finished all the blocks. I didn't want to stop in the middle of a step :)
PB went to bed and Hubby is traveling a few days this week, so night time is kinda lonely on the couch. Plus I have to wait until Hubby gets back to watch shows together and I had nothing to watch on the TiVo. I thought I might as well iron and cut the squares.
They were all cut out and it was only 8:30 so I thought I might as well start laying them out. I liked the first layout I had and decided to label them. But it was only 8:50 and I still had nothing to do so I thought I might as well sew the rows together. Somehow this happened...
The top is done!! in ONE DAY!!! WHAT?!?! Well it's all done except for the border. I think I want a border. Who knows when I will get to get the border on and quilt it. I do have PB's birthday party to get ready for and my BFF's surprise bridal shower coming up after that in a few weeks. It's not like I am short on projects for the next month and a half. They are all paper projects and with Hubby gone, I can sew freely during the day and I guess at night too. All I can say is that after a day in front of the machine I feel so good, but so sore! Now it's back to cutting paper and making things for PB's party. I NEED to get that piƱata finished!

Awesome quilt! Where did you find all the cool fabric? I was joanns yesterday looking for fun fabric for a quilt for Dallin and was disappointed.
I was in a i-spy swap with only spoon flower fabric. the ladies at crafterhours.blogspot.com/ do sell sets of i-spy fabric that is similar to the squares i have. it's worth a look!!! the novelty fabric at joanns are a little cheezy!
Wow! You were productive! Looks awesome! I love I-spy quilts.
Oh my gosh how cute!!! I have always wanted to make a quilt! xo
Wow, looks great. I'm so impressed you finished the quilt top in one day. I keep telling myself to get to work with my own squares from the swap and yet somehow something always takes priority. This month maybe.
