2 months

Baby is 2 months already!!!
I think I have decided on a blog name for him.  Jelly Bean (JB).  He is just so jelly and sweet.
It has been a rough sleeping week around here.  JB was wide awake in the middle of the night or super early every night this week.  To top it off, Hubby traveled all week.  It was a rough week.  PB woke up early a few mornings too.  My Mom had PB over for a sleep over to give me a break which was so helpful and nice.  I did end this week on a good note.  JB slept from 10:30-7:00 am!!!!! It was amazing!! I feel like a human again :)

JB is more awake this month and he coos and smiles like crazy.

He was not really interested in taking pictures this day...

...he kept making his pout face!!  It might be my favorite thing he does.

It's hard to believe I have been away from here for 2 months.  My house is a disaster and I did get to sew one project and have another lined up that I want to work on.  I have just been enjoying my sweet little JB.

He has changed a a lot since last month!

BROTHERS!!!!!
Yesterday PB was running around at my Mom's house.  JB kept turning his head to follow where he was going.  I am loving how much they love each other already!!

Batman Cape

I finally did some sewing!!

PB's buddy had a birthday last week.  He is into Batman just like PB!
I thought a Batman cape would be a perfect gift.
I used black knit fabric and a scrap of grey snuggle flannel for the Batman logo.  I chose knit because I didn't want to finish the edges (knit doesn't fray) and I wanted to to be comfy.

I used black velcro to close it in the front.  The top I double folded over and sewed it down to have a sturdy neck that would stand up a little.  Also I needed something sturdy to sew the velcro to.

For the logo, I did an image search and traced onto Wonderunder.  The logo was appliqued on.

I didn't really use a pattern or tutorial to make this.  I just held the fabric up to PB and cut it based on his height.  The top of the cape is tapered and the bottom is wider.  PB is requesting I make him one with the leftover fabric, so I'll do some better measuring next time. Turns out sewing this week was tricky. I had to do some quick sewing when Hubby held baby at night. The baby didn't want to be left on his own for a few days this week.  He just wanted to sit with me and cuddle.  Luckily that little phase is over and I have been freed from the couch!

He says hi!!

bluebells

Yesterday we did a photo shoot at the Bluebell field near our house.  It is beautiful! We go every year to take some pictures.
Here is a little update. Things around here have been really relaxed.  I have been enjoying the boys and snuggling my sweet baby.

The baby loves to cuddle and he burrows into me in the afternoon after I feed him and I just snuggle him and enjoy every second while PB sleeps.

PB has been loving his brother.  Baby started cooing and smiling and PB just loves to talk to him.

I still don't have a blog name for baby.  I have a few contenders, but I'm still getting to know him.

I am actually going to do a little sewing project this week. I am pretty excited. I'll share that next week.

The weather is finally warming up and we have been taking baby on outside activities.  We went to the zoo the last 2 weekends. PB loves our little local zoo.

Hubby has been working long hours but has been home so we get to see a lot of him. Love that he can work in our basement!

I haven't started exercising yet, but I want too.  It's tricky to schedule with when I am free from nursing and there is a Zumba class.  So far the 2 haven't happened at the same time.

I also really haven't been cooking.  My MOMS Club has a helping hands program and I have been getting meals from friends 2 days a week.  It is awesome, it really takes a load off my mind.  And we have gotten some really delicious meals!!! These ladies rock :)

So hopefully I will be back a little here and there soon.  For now, I'm enjoying every moment. Well, not so much the ones in the middle of the night when the baby decided he is wide awake and wants to talk to me instead of sleep, but all the other moments. Even the poopy diaper ones :)

We took our first official family pic!! I used a tripod and remote to get this picture. Love my guys!! So happy!!!

One Month

Guess who is one month old today!  Just checking in to share what has been going on around here.
I can't believe it has been a month already.  I have really enjoyed some time away from the blog snuggling my new little bundle.  I don't have a name for him on the blog yet.  His first name starts with D.  I feel like I need to get to know him a little more before I can nickname him :)

He has letters that spell his name in his room.  I did the same thing with PB to see how much he changed each month.  Right now he isn't much bigger than the letter!!

Baby is really awake and spends a hour or 2 awake here and there throughout the day. He loves to snuggle into me after nursing and sometimes he talks me into taking a nap with him :)

I am still working on the balance of 2 kids.  I don't have anytime for myself to do sewing or crafting.  I feel like all I do is breastfeed. I have been thinking of things I would like to make, maybe this break will really jumpstart my sewing. I have cooked a few meals, nothing too fancy and nothing worth sharing :) Baby doesn't sleep for very long at night, if i am lucky I get 2 1/2 hours of sleep at a time.  I am pretty tired since PB doesn't really let me nap during the day.

I am back wearing my regular clothes!!! It was pretty surprising, but I am really excited.  I can't wait to be cleared to exercise and get back on my weight loss journey I started last year.  I really miss going to zumba and hopefully at my appointment I will be cleared to exercise again.

I was thinking I would only take a break for march and would be back into action in April.  I think I am going to have to see how it goes.  Maybe when baby stops nursing so much all day long.  I am tired but I am enjoying every second of being a new mom and loving this little guy.  I'll try to check in again soon!!

Happy 4th Birthday PB!!!!

It's PB's birthday and he is 4!
We did a photo shoot this weekend when the weather was beautiful. This was his favorite picture from the shoot.  He thinks he is so funny.

The past 4 years have flown by.  He has changed so much!! Here is a look back at the last 4 years:
The top left is his birth pic, all 9 pounds and 22 inches of him!!!  He was 1 in the blue sweater.  Sticking his tongue out he is 2.  The last one with the sweet smile, he is 3.

We are celebrating big today.  This is his first birthday on a school day and he is bringing snack.  He picked donuts.  I also decorated his doorway and the bathroom with streamers.  We have out of town visitors!!! My bro, SIL and Nephew are visiting for a few days :) We are going to go to dinner and end the day with ice cream cake and presents.  I plan to get a million kisses on those cheeks today too, if he lets me :)

PB is such a sweet boy and I am one lucky Mom.  We are so excited to be celebrating him today!

It's a BOY!!!

Last Monday I went in for my 40 week and 2 days doctor's appointment.  Some high blood pressure got me a trip to the hospital to be induced.  I was having some high blood pressure problems the last 2 weeks of the pregnancy and they decided since I was full term it was a good idea to induce labor.  Less than 12 hours later, 11 minutes after midnight and 10 minutes of pushing, he was here.
All 7lbs, 14 oz and 21 inches of him. He is amazing.

Here is Hubby and I about an hour after he was born. I did not wake up that morning expecting to have a baby.  I was actually thinking I would be pregnant another week! So this was a great surprise.

Well the greatest surprise was that we got another boy.  I am overjoyed to have 2 boys. MATCHING OUTFITS!!!! Need I say more?? PB was so excited to meet him.  He climbed right into my bed to see his baby.

He couldn't wait to hold him and love and squeeze him.  It was the sweetest thing ever. The best part is the baby would open his eyes when he would hear PB's voice.  It is definitely the voice he heard most when he was in my belly.  PB never stops talking.
Hubby and I spent some time alone in the hospital with the baby, that was a nice treat.

We got to take him home on our 9 year wedding anniversary.  What a great way to celebrate our anniversary!!

PB is so excited to be a big brother.  He asks to hold him all the time and likes to help me keep him awake when I am nursing.  PB gets me clean diapers and makes sure the dirty ones are secure in the bin.  He watches over him when he is in the swing or bouncer.  Every time the baby makes a noise, PB is quick to see what he is up to. He is incredibly proud to be a big brother and was thrilled to tell everyone his baby was born and it was a boy.  The nurse gave us a footprint sheet to give to PB so he could bring it to school.  I heard he showed everyone.

I have been doing really great.  My recovery this time is much better than it was with PB.  I actually am starting to feel a little normal.  I have been enjoying my break from reality while my Mom takes PB to school and picks him up and Hubby does all the shopping.  I haven't worried about one meal thanks to friends, my Mom and Hubby.  All I do is nurse, snuggle and look at this sweet baby boy.  It has been a real treat.  I am going to enjoy this as long as possible.  So you probably won't see anything from me on a regular basis.  I am just loving being a mom so much right now.  Squeezing my 2 boys at the same time might be the greatest thing in the world.

Baby Present for B

I had a ball nesting and sewed a bunch of stuff for my BFF, B too!!
Here is the big pile.  I have a breakdown of everything but the Phillies fleece blanket at the top.  It is 60X60 and will be great to put down places for baby girl to play.

Car seat blanket.  Fleece on one side, Knit on the other.  It is just big enough to tuck around the baby when she is in the car seat. They registered for a very neutral car seat so I wanted to make something that was obviously girly so people would know there was a baby girl in there.

I made a stack of burp cloths using that same pattern I always use.  They really hug the shoulder nicely.  I made 2 that B's hubby would be happy to use too :)

B's fav color is purple.  So a purple boppy cover was in order. I have a paper pattern that I used.

The top dark purple strap with 2 buckles turns any blanket into a nursing cover.  There is a tutorial over at I am Momma- Hear Me Roar.
The folded purple knit is actually a nursing cover.  It is a new pattern I tried out.  It was ridiculously easy to make, but I haven't gotten to try it out.  I will do a more in depth look at it after my baby comes.  You use knit and I used very light weight knit so it will be nice in the summer.
Next are the pacifier clips from Made.
The hat I have made before.  This hat matches a swaddle blanket I made that somehow didn't make it into the pic.

Here is the nursing cover I made her.  I used my tutorial to make it!

And last but not least, here are the knit hats I made.  I can't wait to see baby girl in them.  B is due in a month!! I am so excited for her!!!!
